London 🍴🇬🇧

Dishoom (Shoreditch)

Step into a slice of Bombay in the heart of East London. This buzzing spot captures the essence of old Irani cafés with its vintage decor and aromatic dishes. The atmosphere is always electric, especially during their weekend brunches.

Must-try: The bacon naan roll is my go-to hangover cure. Pair it with their creamy chai for the ultimate breakfast experience. For dinner, don't miss the black daal - it's simmered for 24 hours and tastes like pure comfort.

Padella (Borough Market)

This tiny pasta bar always has a queue, and for good reason. Watch the chefs hand-roll pasta through the open kitchen while you wait. The menu is small but perfectly formed, changing seasonally to showcase the best ingredients.

Must-try: The cacio e pepe is simplicity at its finest - perfectly al dente tonnarelli coated in pecorino and black pepper. If you're feeling indulgent, the beef shin ragu pappardelle is a hug in a bowl.

Bao (Soho)

This trendy Taiwanese joint serves up pillowy soft bao buns in a minimalist setting. The queue moves quickly, and the rapid-fire service means you'll be tucking into steaming buns in no time.

Must-try: The classic pork bao is a must, but don't sleep on the fried chicken one. For sides, the trotter nuggets are a crispy, porky delight. End with the Horlicks ice cream for a nostalgic twist.

The Wolseley (Mayfair)

Housed in a former car showroom, The Wolseley oozes old-world charm. It's the perfect spot for people-watching over a leisurely breakfast or afternoon tea. The service is impeccable, making you feel like royalty.

Must-try: Their Eggs Benedict is the stuff of legends - perfectly poached eggs on a crisp muffin with silky hollandaise. For a sweet treat, the chocolate soufflé is pure indulgence.

Flat Iron (Covent Garden)

Who says good steak has to break the bank? Flat Iron proves otherwise with its simple menu centered around perfectly cooked, affordable steaks. The industrial-chic decor and no-reservations policy add to its casual charm.

Must-try: The namesake Flat Iron steak is a no-brainer. Add a side of dripping-cooked chips and their house leaf salad with burnt butter dressing. Don't forget to grab the free ice cream on your way out!

Circolo Popolare (Fitzrovia)

Walking into Circolo is like stepping into a Sicilian fever dream. The OTT decor (think thousands of bottles lining the walls) is matched only by their theatrical approach to food. It's loud, it's fun, and it's delicious.

Must-try: The Instagram-famous cacio e pepe served in a whole wheel of cheese is a must. For dessert, the 1L ice cream sundae is perfect for sharing (or not, no judgment here).
